EDM was considered their side project until the duo realized producing dubstep tracks allowed them to mix genres more creatively. Ten years later the duo have perfected the integration between their many musical viewpoints. “We’ve built a really good working relationship together.” Srigley comments as the tour bus rumbles in the background, steadily making its way to the House of Blues in Florida. “When we’re writing a song, usually will either hop on guitar or piano and I’ll be on guitar myself. We actually end up writing a good portion of the song instrumentally before we end up laying it down in production,” explaining how the duo seamlessly meld musical genres.
“The first dubstep tracks that we really got into were these remixes of hardcore tracks.
The drops just felt like the breakdown of a hardcore song. Same feel, that half-deep kind of slow head-banging vibe. There’s so much you could pull from different areas,” Srigley says.
